qSOFA Score Calculator
Quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment for sepsis screening at the bedside.
qSOFA Criteria
Quick bedside assessment for patients with suspected infection outside the ICU.
qSOFA Score
0/3
Low Risk
Score
0/3
Sepsis Risk
Lower likelihood of sepsis
Clinical Recommendation
Low likelihood of poor outcome. Continue to monitor and reassess if clinical status changes.
Score Interpretation
- 0-1: Low risk of poor outcome
- ≥2: High risk - further evaluation needed
Important Notes
- qSOFA is a screening tool, not a diagnostic criterion for sepsis
- A positive qSOFA should prompt further assessment with full SOFA scoring
- Use in patients with suspected infection outside the ICU
About qSOFA
What is qSOFA?
The quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) was introduced with Sepsis-3 in 2016 as a bedside tool to identify patients with suspected infection who are at greater risk for a poor outcome.
When to Use
Use qSOFA for rapid assessment of patients with suspected infection outside the ICU. It requires no laboratory tests and can be performed quickly at the bedside.
