About Superconductors
Superconductors exhibit zero electrical resistance and perfect diamagnetism below their critical temperature. BCS theory explains conventional superconductivity through Cooper pair formation.
Key BCS Relations:
- Δ(0) = 1.764 kBTc (energy gap)
- Hc(T) = Hc(0)[1 - (T/Tc)²]
- kappa < 1/sqrt(2): Type I, kappa > 1/sqrt(2): Type II
Types:
- Type I: Complete Meissner effect
- Type II: Mixed state with vortices
- HTS: High-temperature (T > 77K possible)
