About Cramér's V

Cramér's V measures the strength of association for contingency tables of any size.

Formula: V = √(χ² / (n × min(r-1, c-1)))

Range: 0 to 1 (0 = no association, 1 = perfect association)

Interpretation (Rea & Parker):

  • < 0.1: Negligible
  • 0.1 - 0.2: Weak
  • 0.2 - 0.4: Moderate
  • 0.4 - 0.6: Relatively Strong
  • 0.6 - 0.8: Strong
  • > 0.8: Very Strong
