Tips for Outline Consistency

  • Draw around cookie edges first
  • Let outline dry 10-15 minutes before flooding
  • Use a small round tip (#2 or #3)

Royal Icing Tips

  • Sift powdered sugar to avoid lumps
  • Add water gradually - you can always add more
  • Keep icing covered with a damp towel to prevent drying
  • Use gel food coloring (liquid will thin the icing)
  • Test consistency: drizzle should disappear in 10-15 seconds for flooding
