About Luminosity Distance
The luminosity distance relates the intrinsic luminosity of an object to its observed flux. In an expanding universe, it differs from other distance measures due to cosmological effects.
Key Relations:
- DL = (1 + z) × DC (flat universe)
- DL = (1 + z)² × DA
- μ = m - M = 5 log₁₀(DL/10pc)
- F = L / (4πDL²)
Standard Cosmology (Planck 2018):
- H₀ = 67.4 ± 0.5 km/s/Mpc
- Ωm = 0.315 ± 0.007
- ΩΛ = 0.685 ± 0.007
