Our Commitment

MyCalcBuddy is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards. Our goal is to make all 3,900+ calculators usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability.

Standards Compliance

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

Accessibility Features

MyCalcBuddy includes the following accessibility features:

• Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (inputs, buttons, dropdowns) are accessible via keyboard. Tab order follows the logical reading order.
• Screen reader support — All form fields have associated labels. Calculator results use ARIA live regions where appropriate to announce updates.
• Colour contrast — Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
• Responsive design — The site is fully responsive and works on all screen sizes including mobile and tablet devices.
• Dark mode — A dark colour scheme is available for users who prefer it or who use it for accessibility reasons.
• Text resizing — The layout accommodates text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
• Focus indicators — Visible focus styles are applied to all interactive elements.
• Skip navigation — Landmark regions allow screen reader users to skip to main content.
• No seizure-inducing content — We do not use flashing content that could cause photosensitive seizures.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet meet full accessibility standards. Known limitations include:

• Some complex charts and data tables in calculator results may have limited screen reader support.
• Some older calculator pages may not fully expose dynamic result updates to assistive technologies.
• Some mathematical formulas are presented as images without full MathML markup.

We are actively working on these issues and prioritize fixes based on user feedback.
