Because the polynomial in the denominator is evaluated at bodyweight in kilograms, the coefficient peaks in the lighter weight classes (roughly 52–75 kg for men), meaning lighter lifters receive a larger multiplier. This is intentional: heavier athletes have proportionally more body mass that is not contractile muscle, so the curve compensates accordingly.

Reaching the Intermediate threshold typically requires at least one to two years of structured training. Wilks vs. IPF Points (GL Points)
